About Babak (Bob) Amin
My name is Babak (Bob) Amin, and I am a master dressmaker with 30 years of experience. I was born in Tehran, Iran, and started my career at age 20 in my brother's shop. I had the privilege of training under some of the most renowned tailors in my country, gaining expertise in both dressmaking and alterations, with a particular focus on perfecting the fit of wedding gowns and tuxedos.
At 25, I moved to Istanbul, Turkey, where I worked for three years with Dantella Textile, honing my skills further. After returning to Iran, I earned my certification in fashion design and dressmaking from the Tehran Fashion Institute. I then opened my own shop, where I specialized in creating wedding gowns, men's suits, and providing expert alteration services.
When I was 34, I moved to the United States and joined the Oklahoma Bridal Showroom, where I had the opportunity to work directly with Moe, the head designer, known for his high standards in bridal alterations and dressmaking. My time there deepened my understanding of fine tailoring, especially for bridalwear.
After four years in the U.S., I returned to Iran to open a new shop, designing wedding dresses and men’s suits while teaching fashion design and dressmaking.
In 2022, I moved to Australia and established my own tailoring shop, offering high-quality dressmaking and alteration services. This journey has allowed me to combine traditional craftsmanship with modern design, and I am dedicated to bringing the perfect fit and elegance to every garment I create.
